Many different organizations like the IRBRS have popped up within the Santa community that allow Santas from similar areas or with similar interests to find camaraderie and support with each other. Some Santas, like Carmody and Raines also like to dress alike in some of their leisure Santa outfits.
Harold Woods bathes his and Jan's adopted son Christopher, 11, at night before he goes to school the next day. Christopher, also suffered shaken baby syndrome and needs twenty-four hour care which the Woods have been giving him for 11 years. Alexis, along with other children the Woods fostered, needed the same kind of care.

Zbyszek and his wife take a break from mining coal in their neighborhood of Wałbrzych, Poland with a few beers. Mining coal like this is illegal but some of the older miners, like Zbyszek, can't find work elsewhere and so they put their old skills to use. Zbyszek's wife usually looks out for police patrolling the area.

Army Captain Daniel Hartman reads the names of U.S. soldiers who died during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan during Friday's Veterans Day event at Columbia College on Nov. 11, 2011. Columbia College Student Veterans honored Veterans Day bu reading the fallen veteran's names off one by one. Hartman, not currently on active duty, served five years in the army and two tours of Iraq where he was a platoon leader during the troop surge. Hartman read over 2,500 names from the list, some of whom were his friends. "I say each one [name] with reverence," Hartman said.
