Staying put in Indiana

So I just moved to Indiana about three weeks ago now and will be interning at The Herald until July. Here are a few frames from working the past couple weeks.

Quentin Lechner, 11, right, listened to Andrew Franklin, 10, left, as they planned out a pass play against Dayton Shelton, 11, not pictured, during a game of football outside Franklin's home after school on Tuesday. The three friends are from Jasper and all attend 10th street elementary. Matthew Busch/The Herald

Craig Meyer of Saint Anthony looked over a Yugoslavian SKS 7.62x39 rifle from seller Dennis Gray of Princeton, right, as Meyer's daughter Layla, 9, watched on during Ferdinand's Gun and Knife Show on Saturday. Meyer is the owner of Pinnacle Defense in Saint Anthony where he teaches a defensive handguns course. Matthew Busch/The Herald

Andy Lampert, right, wiped his face of sweat after he finished cutting the last block of wood with his father, Ambrose, left, outside their home east of Jasper on Wednesday. The Lamperts supplement their electric heater with a wood furnace in their basement, which Andy estimates removes three-fourths of their heating bills. They keep their home furnace going from October through April if the weather stays cold enough. Matthew Busch/The Herald

More to come but for now it feels good not moving around for a while and getting to know a new place.
